Caroline Birchinall is responsible for the management and ongoing development of 3-D Secure in Europe. With a passion for innovation and new technology, Caroline has developed payment programmes in Europe and Asia and acquired a wealth of insight about the trends in card payments globally including the effects of regulation. Prior to working on Visa’s authentication solutions, Caroline managed Visa’s Credit and Co-branding products, worked with Acquirers to develop new merchant sectors and led the development of Prepaid. Before coming to Visa, Caroline worked for HSBC in the UK and Hong Kong.

Scott is the Business Strategy Manager for CCS Fraud, EMEA and brings with him over 34 years of Financial Services experience, with 33 years at Royal Bank of Scotland. Prior to leaving RBS, Scott was the Head of Investigations & Support, Fraud & Chargeback Operations where he led over 400 staff across 4 Operational Centres in the UK & Ireland. He also provided management support for the RBS Fraud & Chargeback Centres India.
His Law Enforcement Operations responsibility provided Scott with an opportunity to directly support all the UK & Irelands Police forces where his teams provided critical information to fight Crime & International terrorism.
Scott also has extensive Collections & Recoveries experience when he was a Litigation & Repossession Manager during which time he graduated as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
Scott, continues to live in his home town, Glasgow & commutes to the London office.

Alex set up the new Consumer Distribution Policy Department in the FCA in October 2018 and is responsible for policy development across banking, payments, mortgages, General Insurance and Claims Management Companies. He joined the FCA in 2014 and has been worked in variety of policy and strategy roles including leading the team developing the FCA’s Mission. Alex started working life as an economist before moving to a policy focus at the Association of British Insurers where he led their work on the Retail Distribution Review. A topic that once again Alex is responsible for, this time in the form of the FCA’s recently announced review.

Paul is Chief Technical Architect at Daon focused on innovative identity solutions for both government and private sector programs. Paul has recently aligned with the UK region on numerous Multi Factor Authentication and SCA compliance projects. With over 20 years’ experience in Daon, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and care to this role working with the Global Engineering and Professional Services teams to create exciting products and solutions for our customers.

Miles has been the Head of Propositions at Open Banking since its inception in 2016. Open Banking is the entity created by the UK Competition and Markets Authority to create innovative technology (APIs), data standards and the governance structures enabling the UK to implement Open Banking.

In his role he is responsible for the Propositions team, acting as the “voice of the customer” across the programme, contributing to policy and API development, thereby ensuring that the intended customer benefits of the CMA Order are met. This is achieved through extensive engagement with the market, customer research and customer interest groups to understand the use cases and customer experience required to make Open Banking successful.

Miles has deep experience of customer-led digital product development across the payments, digital identity and telecoms landscape, having previously worked for major brands including Vodafone, MTN, Sky and Verizon.

Fabien is head of sales at Okay with a particular focus in Nordics, UK, France and Indonesia where Okay have teams or partners.
He has spent 20 years+ in new technology in sales and sales leadership, with large software vendors or challengers around the world, and lately with fintechs.

Sunil Gossain SVP for Uniken, leads the Sales function in the EMEA region. Sunil a business development executive with two decades of knowledge and experience from leadership roles within solution providers, financial services and consulting agencies.

John is managing Open Banking Strategy, Partnerships at BNP Paribas Fortis. He is working on latest Innovation & new business models – APIs, Payments, PSD2, SCA – Channel strategy, digital signature (itsme), account aggregation, Interbank collaborations.

Earlier he has managed payment products and projects for the last 15 years. Since 2011, within BNP Paribas Fortis, he has coordinated the roadmap of projects that stimulate the development of electronic payments. In that role, he has had the opportunity to make multiple attempts at solving the challenges of mobile payments.

Duncan McIntosh is the Product Owner at Multifactor Authentication in Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Earlier he has an experience of 3 years as a Senior Consulting Manager -Scrum Master/ Agile Coach in Sopra Steria.

Tim Richards is a Senior Technical Consultant and Solutions Architect specialising in secure transactions covering solutions and products and cryptographic security across payments, governments, mobile and transit sectors.

He specialises in Business and Technical Analysis, Requirements analysis a solution design, GDPR and PSD2 analysis, Multi-application smartcards (GlobalPlatform, MULTOS, Mifare), Financial sector applications (EMV, e-purse, PIN Management, mobile and Tokenization), Government sector applications (ICAO, e-identity), card issuance and enterprise management systems, Transit sector applications, payment ticketing and key management solutions, mobile management (NFC, HCE and BLE) and payment solutions, cryptographic security.

Chris is the Researcher, consultant and communicator specialising in all things digital banking; from proposition development and optimisation, to responding to competitive threats and assessing the impact of new technologies. He leads Mapa’s consulting practice, which supports major financial brands in the UK, Europe and North America to critically review their digital strategies and optimise the services they deliver to customers.

Chris is fascinated by the power rising fintechs have to create real competitive threats to traditional financial institutions, whilst ultimately improving user experiences for the consumer. After 5 years of researching within the financial industry, Chris specialises in proposition development and optimisation, responding to competitive threats and assessing the impact of new technologies.

Sam joined Starling Bank in 2016 to lead a group of engineers building a new core banking system running entirely in the cloud. After 10 years replacing legacy systems in large financial institutions, he is now the Head of Engineering responsible for the delivery of the Starling mobile applications, Open Banking APIs and Marketplace.

Caroline leads Open Banking Implementation for Barclays Bank, which includes leading the design and delivery of Barclay’s response to the CMA remedies and PSD2 requirements. She also plays an active role in the Barclays engagement with the Open Banking Implementation Entity. She has spent the majority of her career in financial services – more recently as conduct risk director for the Transactions, Insurance and Mass Market businesses. Other roles have focussed on leadership of customer service departments, complaints management and customer experience programmes.

Alessandro considers himself as being very curious in learning new things or trying to view them in a different way and defines himself as a “Roaming Digital Manager”. His entrepreneurial and adaptation skills allowed him to develop an international career studying and working in 9 countries over the last 14 years.
He is currently leading the Digital Banking and Open Banking Transformation for Cater Allen Private Bank, Santander UK.

Adrian is the CEO of Hamburg Consulting Group, and a security advisor for the financial market, successfully supporting banks and Fintechs to meet the increasing number of global and local regulatory requirements. His deep experience in the various aspects of preventing finance fraud including money laundering and sanctions & embargoes has helped many financial institutions to globally enhance their security standards and subsequently raising related customer experience and satisfaction. He is a member of the industry response board to the PSD2 regulators and has successfully dealt with MAS , HKMS and Russian regulations.

Adrian is currently leading the global anti-fraud programme at Deutsche Bank .

Rob has an immense knowledge about Strong Customer Authentication and is a lead product owner ay Lloyds Banking Group. Rob has an aptitude for aesthetics and understanding and that makes him stand out from the crowd. Rob made a difference to the business through his considerable knowledge in his field. He is responsible for building incident and threat readiness capability in order to protect the Group against loss of business, customer service, reputation and to maintain / develop a fully effective Incident Management framework and capability for the Group.
